Hooty-hoo

My first attempt at drawing an owl. Not very owl-like in my opinion. RH added the claw to see if it would help it... I don't think it did. Looks a bit like a cat. So. I asked him to draw one...

His attempt looks a bit more owl-like. Though, honestly, I do think he looks a bit like Batman :P

A few more goes and I think I got it. In one of my many books, there are instructions on how to add an illustration to a piece of polymer clay. I see a pendant in my future!

Hopefully :P

Wired Dragonflies

I couldn't find my headpins (how does someone just LOSE a thing of headpins!?) and ended up making something of my own for the fire polished beads dangling with the dragonflies. I could always change them if I find my headpins (still unbelievable) but I rather like the little swirly I made.

My wire sculptures are a bit messy, no? I like them like that. I wonder if others do too?

My Rockstar

I've decided to give crocheting another go. And while I'm sitting there counting chains and fighting the yarn, RH decides that he's going to practice the guitar. One of our first dates, he played his guitar for me. He even wrote the song himself, long ago, for another girl I'm sure, but hey. I wasn't always his girl.

Bunnies and Duckies

I think my cousin's family is slowly building a zoo.

We have three bunny rabbits. Two black and white ones like the one above and an all black one. The one above is cleaning itself like a cat! I didn't know they did that! The same one likes to lick your fingers when you go to pet it. They're adorable. There's one for each kid. The oldest, Luke, named his black bunny Shadow. The youngest, David (who I think is 3), named his black and white one Iron Man. Lily, the middle child, hasn't named hers but she wants to name it after a goddess of love. RH says there's a goddess named Easter and I thought, "So, the rabbit would be Easter Bunny?"

We also have 4 ducks. One is hiding. They're very cute... loud... and messy. Like me! Hahaha.

I want a bunny. But I want an angora rabbit. So I can spin spin yarn (I know. I'm so full of ideas). I've been reading a lot of memoirs and one I read mentioned keeping rabbits for their wool. And they're tame and sweet and can be litter box trained.

How can you not fall in love with a creature that looks like this? I think I would name it Wocket (I know that you can't really name something until you know they're personality but still...) because it looks like something out of a Seuss book!

What A Happy Family

I've taken to bringing wire and beads to play with at work (during lunch, thank you very much) and on my adventures with RH (usually when we wind up at Starbucks). That's how my happy dragonfly family was born. Mama Dragonfly came first with her pink beads. Next was Daddy Dragonfly and of course, because we all know how the birds and the bees work, The Twins were born shortly after.

I have plans for Mama and The Twins, but no plan yet for Daddy. Hmm... any ideas?

How Time Flies

Just a brief warning: There is a picture of a whole roasted pig in this post... If this grosses you out or it offends you, I'm sorry. It's part of my culture and it was yummy :)

Its been so long since I posted here. The past few weeks have been... fantastic and horrid at the same time. Work, life, love, family... all of these take up my time. Creation has to wait and I go crazy in the mean time. Sorry to all my friends and family who have had to deal with me being so insane.

In other news, there were two birthdays to celebrate the past few weeks. I turned 23 on the 23rd of August (YAY!) and my nephew turned 6 on the 29th. I went to the Santa Ana Zoo with RH for my birthday. Lots of monkeys (the guy above desperately wanted a spider that was crawling on that leaf. We watched him try and try to get it but he wasn't able to... ) and happiness.

We drove up to my hometown to celebrate my nephew's birthday. There was a MOUNTAIN of presents. And he said mine (The Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary, thank you very much) was his favorite. There was yummy food (mmm... roasted pig) and awesome people. It was nice seeing my brother's family and friends after being away for so long.

I'm going to make an effort to post more. I think about this blog and my blog friends everyday. I wish I had just a few more hours each day... I need to make those hours happen.
